What a Life!!!

Well it's been quite awhile and alot has been happening. Since October I have found out that I have carpal tunnel in both hands and a huge bunyon on one foot that both need surgery. Not inpressed but it will need to be done. The foot surgery will be in 6 months. Then with all hopes I won't go through as many shoes. I keep blowing holes in the side of one shoe. Not much will keep me down but I was told that for one month I will be off my feet so the only bonus to that is I have more time to crochet. And when they do my hands crocheting is good therapy.
I found out that I have a school reunion (40th) summer 2011 and no matter what I'm going. can't miss this one. And about 10 months ago my mother-in-law got sick. The doctors have been saying congestive heart and lung failure and dementia. She has been going down hill fast. Well about a month ago we put her into the hospital she had gotten so bad. We found out that she is so bad we have to put her into a nursing home and there is only one here. We also found out she has breast cancer. Kemo and surgery will kill her so they are giving her a pill to slow down the cancer. I think its the kemo pill as it is makeing her so tired we will find out today. On the up side our son and his wife are here for a few days so hopefully we get to see our grandaughter today. Can't wait I haven't seen her in a year and ahalf. The sad part is she lives with her mother about 50 miles away from our home and we are not allowed to see her without Lawrence. Emma is 9 now and I have seen her a total of 6 times and when she was a baby I got to hold her 3 times, sad that I can count how many time I held her isn't it? Well I should go I have alot to do today and I only have two days off this week.

Busy busy

It' been quite awhile since I have written on here but I have been very busy. Being what people might call an only child now having the demands of an ageing mother and my mother-in-law as well as working 12hr. shifts at work, things can get a little hairy at times. The me time is getting shorter by the day. I have still been crocheting in my car it helps me relax I just finished 4 more baby blankets for people I work with and I'm now working on a cell phone holder for our daughter. Thought I would get a headstart on christmas. You just never know what will happen this year. I'm in pain with my back all the time "kind of like the worst tooth ach you ever had" but no matter what I do the pain is always there. This past year has been a roller coaster  ride with all it's ups and downs and there are times I want off. I just have too much to do. So I should get off of the computer and get some of it done. This is my first blog as you will soon find out. So I will start by letting you know a little about me. I have been crocheting since the age of 14yr. thanks to a home ech teacher. The class was to start off making a scarf but not me I enjoyed the craft so much I made a twin size afghan. The teacher was Mrs. Ingram at Bayside High in Bellville Ontario, Canada. She taught me alot from cake decorating, sewing, crafts and each thing she taught me has helped through my life. I'm married with 3 grown children and I work 12 hour shifts. I crochet every chance I get even at work while on breaks. For the past 6 yrs. I have been making baby afgans for family, friends, & people I work with. I just finished 175 lucky penny holders for a lady I work with that is getting married in July. She is giving them out as wedding favors. I'm looking forward to this summer camping with friends we sit around the campfire crocheting and getting caught up on what our next project is going to be then at night we walk the park with our camera's taking night pictures. Those of you that like to camp here is something for you to try. Take a 4-5 inch peice of copper and wrap a peice of nylon garden hose around the copper. Throw it into the fire and watch the beautiful colors. The more you throw in the more colors. But please be sure NOT to cook over the fire as the copper will penitrate the food. When the coals have cooled down use a poker and dig out the copper and use it again & again. This is entertaining for Children young and old.
